Kathy Rubright, LCSW

Hi, my name is Kathy. If there was a word that would best describe me, it

would be “perseverance” because throughout my story, it was the only

acceptable option. Throughout my early years, I wasn’t aware I was only

“surviving”. That wasn’t a concept to me until I was lucky enough to find a

therapist who helped me to navigate out of my darkness and into my “the

light”. Therapy was my safe place to self-reflect and to heal old and new

wounds. Behind my need to “never give up or persevere” was my belief in

hope.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, scared or alone? Are the walls closing in on

you? Is it hard to be kind to yourself or believing you are not enough? Do

you find yourself feeling confused about your relationship? Loss or grief? If

you are, you are not alone. We have all been there. I have been there,

myself.

My story had a profound impact on my decision to pursue my degree in

Social Work. I grew up in New York State and I received my master’s degree

from Adelphia University in 1998. After graduating and becoming licensed

to practice, I worked with adolescents and families struggling with mental

illness, abuse, and loss. In 2009, I relocated to Pennsylvania and received

my LSW. In 2021, I became a board certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker

(CW021634). Over the years, I have had experience working with Hospice,

child loss, individuals struggling with mental illnesses, domestic violence,

trauma, divorce, marital and relationship issues, school and peer issues,

and transgender.

I believe everyone should have a safe, supportive, non-judgmental, and

empathetic environment. Many people believe they “are not fixable...they

are broken”. But I disagree. We are NEVER broken. We are beautifully

unique and with support and hope, anything AND everything is possible

and attainable. The outcome may not be what it looked like before, but it

just might be better than you even imagined it could be. I look forward to

working with you and being part of your journey of personal growth.

Change is possible. It's time to begin the healing process. Therapy can be

scary, but you are taking the first step toward healing! Life's unexpected

turns can be challenging and painful... misleading us to believe there are no

options. But there is! Change is possible and attainable with the proper

support, guidance, hope and most of all, healing. Let's get started!
